About Me

Hey! My name is Finn Giddings, and I am currently a second year graduate student at the Institute for Astronomy (IfA) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My research mostly involves extragalatic astronomy from both observations and simulations (as well as computational methods). I am particularly interested in galaxy evolution, galaxy mergers, and galaxy clusters/proto-clusters.

Prior to my time in Hawaii, I attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee where I graduated with a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Computer Science. While at Rhodes, I played Tight End for the football team and threw javelin for the track and field team (Roll Lynx!)

I am originally from outside of Kansas City, Missouri (Liberty, MO). Outside of academia, I enjoy snorkeling, hiking, surfing, movies, Boulevard Wheat, and Symere Woods. L&R
